Universal Low Pressure Fuel Pumps
AIRTEX in-line solenoid pumps belong to the family of universal electric pumps with low pressure. Within this family, AIRTEX has references that work at 12VDC and 24VDC.
The principle of performance of these pumps is summarized in the movement of a piston inside the pump that generates the pressure and favors the flow of fuel through it.
This piston is moved by the electromagnetic field that is generated by applying 12VDC or 24VDC to the positive and negative terminals of the pump.
When applying the voltage, a current is produced through the internal winding of the pump, which is what produces the electromagnetic field already mentioned, and therefore the movement of the piston.
These pumps have a typical performance of 75 to 110 L/h at 0.2 bar with a maximum current of 3.0 A, and also have a reverse polarity protection system.
The applications of this type of pumps are wide and varied, the main one being the replacement of mechanical pumps (carburation pumps).
